From Botswana to the far shores of Bangkok, presenter, Keke Matlou and her team have introduced untold numbers of Africans to their dream destinations;
Through her partnerships with the locations, brands and tourism boards that she finds herself visiting, Keke has always ensured her viewers experience the perfect itinerary.
In her careful choice of production partners she has been able to shoot with small agile teams, ensuring maximum coverage while also creating content that feels rich and relevant for years to come.
With her choice of broadcasters and streaming platforms she has always given access to those who are best positioned to absorb the grandeur of her journeys, and manifest such journeys into their own lives.
Creating A model
In our desire to bring Kekes unique perspective to the locations she wishes to champion, and the viewers she seeks to inspire - we have broken down an example case study of how a production featuring Keke might come together.
Location: As the partnering destination and local expert O&L Leisure Hotels would provide logistics support and oversight for the duration of the shoot - providing accommodation and transport, but more importantly local expertise to ensure that what the local area has to offer, is captured. O& L Leisure Hotels would also provide Co-Funding for the production.
Production: As production partners Keke and Hloni would give voice, tone and shape to the piece. We would oversee the production of all content pieces as well as ensure synergy between talent, location and broadcaster. Production would create a vertical content plan, packaging content to be rolled out on a range of platforms from short form to streaming.
Broadcaster: As Broadcaster EVOD would host and distribute all long form content created during this shoot while also providing Co-Funding for the production.
Content that runs
In our years of creating content, nothing has been harder than to shoot a life changing experience, and not have that experience shared with the world.
While capturing content of the places we visit has its own challenges, getting that content once completed, in front of the eyes and ears of those who it would spur the most action can prove equally challenging.
This combined with the rise of local and international streaming platforms and their deep hunger for locally produced content has resulted in a unique opportunity. This opportunity solves both locations' ability to fully fund the level of production we think best exemplifies their experiences, as well as a place to share the videos we produce.
A life at leisure
With O&L Leisure's portfolio of locations spanning both locations and experiences, Keke would be able to tell a story that covers so much of the Namibian experience. From River Safaris in Chobe to Spa Days and cultural activities in Swakopmund. Our episodes will be as varied as the nation they explore.
AMAZING THAILAND
Presenter, Keke Matlou, was invited to capture Thailand with the Thai tourism council, Amazing Thailand. Given the small team limitations and the multiple locations, XCIV was the perfect team to travel with Keke, exploring the best experiences and locations Thailand has to offer. XCIV succeeded in producing several short form video episodes that were distributed on BET’s channels as well as on Amazing Thailand.
These pieces were a landmark in cementing Thailand as a travel destination for South Africans. Our videos capture the little details and the great wonders, allowing South Africans to see themselves adventuring in a land they love visiting so much, Amazing Thailand.
